Open Question: How to detect if a disk is (physically) read-only in linux?

Hey there, I was just curious if anyone knows of a way to detect if a particular HDD/SSD drive is physically in read-only mode in linux. I have some servers that auto mount their HDD's/SSD's as read-only when the system boots up, but our fstab settings does that regardless if we have the jumper settings set for read-only or read-write. thanks in advance....
